Jul 26, 2021
On September 23, 2021, the Guelph Chamber of Commerce will host community and business leaders at a drive-in event with a local twist. The event dubbed Celebration Guelph, presented by title sponsor Enbridge will premiere an original documentary showcasing how local businesses navigated the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The past 16 months have been an incredibly turbulent time. Businesses were forced to adapt to unprecedented challenges” says Shakiba Shayani, President & CEO of the Guelph Chamber of Commerce. “It’s inspiring to follow the journey that local businesses have been on for the past 16 months, and this documentary allows community members to get a glimpse inside that journey.”
The Chamber has commissioned member and local video production studio, Ward 1 Studios to capture the business landscape during the pandemic. The documentary will follow the stories of local businesses, highlighting the pivots, challenges, and successes they experienced during the pandemic.
The documentary will be unveiled on the evening of September 23 at the On The Grand drive-in at Bingemans, a long time member of the Chamber. “Not only are we thrilled to showcase many members in the documentary itself, but we’re also pleased to be supporting members like On The Grand, who were hit hard by the pandemic. Supporting and elevating our members is key to a robust post-COVID economic recovery and this documentary is not only a nod to the resilient business community but also provides a glimpse into the future of business in our region” says Shayani.
